Supply Desk are currently working with a large and well-regarded primary school based in Maidstone, known for its strong sense of community, excellent transport links, and supportive staff team. The school are seeking a qualified Key Stage 2 teacher to join them from September 2025 to provide full-time maternity cover, with full teacher responsibilities until at least June 2026.
This is an ideal opportunity for a passionate, reliable and adaptable teacher living in or close to Maidstone who is open to a flexible maternity contract. While experience in Upper Key Stage 2 is desirable, it is not essential-the school values commitment, enthusiasm, and a collaborative approach above all.
You will be responsible for delivering creative and engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum, supporting pupils' academic and personal development. You'll work within a strong and collaborative team that prides itself on creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum
Monitor and assess pupils' progress, providing regular feedback and setting appropriate targets
Promote a positive, respectful classroom culture with high expectations for behaviour and effort
Collaborate with year group and phase partners to ensure a consistent and supportive approach
Communicate effectively with parents and carers to support pupil progress and wellbeing
Participate in staff meetings, training, and whole-school events as part of the wider team
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Have experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Upper KS2
Be a positive, approachable team player with strong communication skills
Be organised, flexible, and committed to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning
Hold a current, enhanced DBS check, or be willing to obtain one
Competitive pay rates, paid to scale
