About the Role:
TeacherActive is currently recruiting an experienced Key Stage 2 (KS2) teacher for a temporary maternity cover position at a well-established primary school in Erdington, Birmigham. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to work in a supportive and positive environment, delivering high-quality teaching to children in Year 3.

The role will start in September 2025 and is expected to run until the end of the academic year, with the potential for extension depending on the school's needs. This is a full-time, temporary position through our agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons aligned with the KS2 curriculum.
  • Create a supportive, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that encourages independent learning and personal growth.
  • Regularly monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with the existing teaching team to ensure a smooth transition and consistent learning experience for students.
  • Ensure all children’s needs are met, adapting teaching methods to suit a diverse range of abilities.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a positive and productive learning atmosphere.

Specification:

We are looking for a KS2 teacher who:

  • Holds a relevant teaching qualification (QTS) and has proven experience teaching in Key Stage 2.
  • Has a genuine passion for teaching young children and a deep understanding of the KS2 curriculum.
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Is adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working in a temporary role.
  • Has experience working with children of different abilities and is able to create an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Is available for the full duration of the maternity cover.
