Primary School Teacher – Key Stage 2 -- Basingstoke

Full Time (Reduced Days Considered for the Right Candidate)

A specialist academy dedicated to supporting children with a primary diagnosis of autism is seeking a passionate and skilled Key Stage 2 Teacher to join their committed team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners with complex needs.

The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering a stimulating curriculum that meets the varied needs of children aged 7 to 11 (KS2). You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and support staff, to ensure the best outcomes for every pupil.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalised and differentiated teaching to meet the needs of pupils with autism.

  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals.

  • Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavioural support plans.

  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adjusting strategies as necessary.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in primary education, ideally within special educational needs settings.

  • Strong knowledge of autism spectrum conditions and associated teaching strategies.

  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
