Job summary

Overstone Park School in Northampton is seeking a dedicated Key Stage 2 Teacher – SEND to deliver high-quality lessons to KS2 pupils with SEND. You will plan, differentiate and use TEACCH-informed practices to support communication, independence and progress.

The role involves working with EHCPs, coordinating with SEND staff and health professionals, and upholding safeguarding and school policies while supporting pupils’ personal development.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Key Stage 2.
• Experience working with pupils with SEND.
• Ability to differentiate and adapt teaching to pupils’ needs.
• Strong classroom management and positive behaviour-management skills.
• Understanding of EHCPs and outcomes-focused provision.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver KS2 lessons with differentiation.
• Teach English, Maths, Science and wider KS2 curriculum.
• Contribute to EHCP implementation and pupil target reviews.
• Collaborate with SEND staff, mentors, speech and language therapy and other professionals.
• Maintain clear records of attainment, progress and EHCP outcomes.
• Promote reading, literacy, numeracy and communication across the curriculum.
