KS2-4 SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Location - Newton Abbot
  • £88.94 per day
  • 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday
  • September 2025
  • Full time, Long term contract, term time only

GSL Education are working with a Special Needs school in Newton Abbot who are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team.

The school caters for children and young adults aged 10-16 with SEMH. This includes those who have Autism, ADHD and present challenging behaviours associated with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

HAVING UK DRIVING LICENSE AND OWN CAR IS NECESSARY FOR THIS ROLE.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for compassionate and patient Teaching Assistants to join the school on a full time, long term basis. We are looking for someone with an adaptable approach along with a great sense of humour and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND (professionally or personally)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children and their families
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude toward supporting children with additional needs
  • A collaborative approach to working alongside teachers, parents, and other professionals
  • Be available asap on a full-time basis
