Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a passionate KS2 SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Darlington. You’ll support KS2 pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis to help access learning and build confidence.

You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to provide personalised support and targeted interventions, with graduates and those from related volunteering encouraged to apply. Position starts September 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN/SEND is preferred but not essential.
• Patience, resilience and a genuine passion for supporting children.

KS2 SEN Learning Support Assistant – Darlington

Milk Education is looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Darlington.

You’ll be supporting KS2 pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis, helping children with additional needs access learning, build confidence and develop their independence. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to provide personalised support and targeted interventions.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates, or anyone with relevant school, nursery, childcare, community or volunteer experience who is passionate about helping children thrive.

Key Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For

• Experience supporting children with SEN/SEND is preferred but not essential.
• Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, community or similar setting.
• Paediatric First Aid certification is desirable.
• Patience, resilience and a genuine passion for supporting children.
• A positive and adaptable approach to working with different learning needs.
• Confidence working as part of a wider school team.
• Graduates and candidates with relevant volunteer or placement experience are encouraged to apply!
