Job summary

The Heights Academy, part of Forward Education Trust, invites applications for a Phase Leader for Key Stage 2 to lead teaching improvement and help develop the Explorer Pathway across KS2‑KS4 for pupils with ASC and EHCPs.

Starting 1 January 2027, this full-time permanent role requires coaching staff, differentiating lessons, and creating a supportive, safe learning environment in a school that opened in 2023.

Qualifications

• Experience leading KS2 teaching teams.
• Ability to differentiate lessons for ASC/EHCP pupils.
• Coaching and staff development experience.
• Commitment to school values and EHCP-based planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead meaningful improvement in teaching and learning within Key Stage 2.
• Develop the Explorer Pathway across KS2, KS3 and KS4 with an adapted curriculum.
• Improve pupils' progress, wellbeing and independence, including ASC/EHCP pupils.
• Coach and mentor staff, deliver targeted CPD for KS2 and the Explorer Pathway.
• Contribute to school strategy using assessment and pupil progress data.
