KS2 Lead Teacher Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, and support the KS2 team, promoting high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement creative and effective lesson plans that engage and challenge KS2 students.
  • Oversee the delivery of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and interventions to support achievement.
  • Develop and lead staff training and professional development opportunities within KS2.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high expectations and a love of learning.
  • Regularly communicate with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Contribute to whole-school initiatives and collaborate with other leadership team members to drive school improvement.
  • Be an active member of the school leadership team, participating in meetings, strategy planning, and school-wide activities.

KS2 Lead Teacher Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Significant experience teaching in Key Stage 2, with a strong track record of improving student outcomes.
  • Experience in a leadership role or with leading teams is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective assessment methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • A passionate leader who is committed to fostering an inclusive and high-achieving learning environment.
  • A collaborative, forward-thinking approach to leadership and school improvement.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and supporting others in their growth.
