Job description

KS2 Lead Teacher - Progression to Assistant Headteacher

Location: Willesden Green, London Borough of Brent
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (with AHT progression available for the right candidate)

SANZA Teaching (the sister agency to Tradewind Recruitment) is proud to be supporting a high-performing Roman Catholic primary school in Willesden Green, in the search for an inspiring and ambitious KS2 Lead Teacher to join the team from September 2025.

This is an exciting and rare opportunity for a confident classroom practitioner who is ready to step into a strategic leadership position, with the opportunity to progress to Assistant Headteacher in the near future. The school is seeking someone who can lead Key Stage 2 with vision, integrity, and passion-while still delivering outstanding teaching within Year 6 or across the upper phase.

About the School:

A well-established two-form entry Roman Catholic primary school serving a richly diverse community.
Graded Outstanding by both Ofsted and the Diocesan Inspection, with a warm, inclusive and values-driven ethos.
Strong emphasis on faith, service, and academic excellence, supported by a dynamic and skilled teaching team.
A focus on developing the whole child, blending academic rigour with creativity, character education, and pastoral care.
High expectations and clear routines create a calm, purposeful learning environment.
Easily accessible by public transport - no on-site parking available.

About the Role:

  1. Strategic leadership of Key Stage 2, including mentoring colleagues, overseeing curriculum delivery, and tracking progress.
  2. Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching in Year 6 or another KS2 class as needed.
  3. Play a lead role in preparing children for end-of-key-stage assessments, ensuring progress and achievement across the phase.
  4. Work closely with SLT to support whole-school initiatives, assessment and CPD planning.
  5. Opportunity to take on whole-school responsibilities and contribute to the development of teaching and learning.
  6. This role has a clear progression route to Assistant Headteacher, with the timeline and development plan tailored to your experience.

Who We're Looking For:

  1. A qualified teacher (QTS) with substantial KS2 experience, ideally including Year 6.
  2. A proven excellent classroom practitioner, with a track record of strong pupil outcomes.
  3. Confident and inspiring, with the ability to lead and support colleagues with clarity and empathy.
  4. Someone who thrives on challenge and has a commitment to high expectations and continuous improvement.
  5. Able to lead by example, model best practice, and drive forward the school's vision for excellence in teaching and learning.
  6. A team player with a sense of humour and a genuine love of working with children.
  7. An understanding of, and respect for, the school's Catholic ethos is essential - practising faith not required.

What the School Offers:

  1. A welcoming and supportive SLT, committed to developing leaders from within.
  2. Strong partnerships with families, governors and the local parish community.
  3. A well-structured and engaging curriculum, with clear frameworks for planning and assessment.
  4. Access to ongoing CPD, including leadership coaching, NPQ programmes, and faith leadership training where desired.
  5. A collaborative team culture with shared planning, regular phase meetings, and time to reflect and grow.
