Job description

Grangehurst Primary School is a large two-form entry primary school surrounded by fabulous grounds on the northern edge of Coventry close to the borders of Warwickshire and Leicestershire with very good access to major road networks. We are nearly at capacity having over 400 children on roll and sharing our school building and grounds with a 52-place playgroup.

What is the job role?

Our staff are a mixture of experienced and newer teachers and leaders working in close partnership with our amazing team of support staff. Our grounds and school building are well maintained, with many breakout spaces for learning including a large forest school area. Our children access their learning in a variety of ways and make use of the latest technologies; having access to over 250 Chromebooks and iPads. This provides numerous opportunities for effective learning to take place. We have our own adaptive provision for those pupils with the highest levels of need and have developed our own Social Emotional Wellbeing (SEW) programme to support all children across the school with their emotional development.

We take staff development seriously with weekly opportunities for teachers and teaching support staff to receive current training. Many of our staff choose to undertake additional training e.g. NPQs and the school supports them to do this. Our staff room is a relaxing environment where staff can hopefully escape from the hustle and bustle of class and everyday school life. There is also a separate PPA room for teachers.

We are recruiting now for September 2025. A fixed term 0.6 teacher to work predominantly across KS2 covering classes. Ideally, we are looking for an experienced teacher from M3 - M6 to join our team of dedicated staff and join our Year 6 Team. However, we would consider applications from more experienced teachers and ECTs who can demonstrate that they have the right skills and experience.

Who are we looking for?

As a teacher at Grangehurst you will need to:

Have high expectation for yourself and your pupils

Have the highest standards of teaching and the ability to make learning fun and memorable

Have a commitment to helping all our children learn the curriculum and develop into well rounded young people

Have desire to go that extra mile and make a difference

Have a good understanding of the national curriculum and a willingness to engage in further professional training and development

Be open to working as part of a team to improve outcomes for all pupil

Ideally have had experience of teaching across KS2.

As a school we can offer you:

A Good School with Outstanding Areas as confirmed by OFSTED in November 2021

Enthusiastic, Friendly and Happy children

A strong staff team who strive to achieve the highest standards of teaching and learning for all

Innovative and creative approaches to teaching & learning

A forward thinking curriculum

Comprehensive professional development and high quality learning opportunities

A leadership team that will support you to have a work life balance and find your full potential
