Southampton City Council presents a Key Stage 1 Class Teacher vacancy at Newlands Primary School. Start date January 2027 for a fixed-term contract to 31 August 2027, with potential extension based on staffing needs.

We seek a Year 1 teacher who is passionate, creative and capable of inspiring learners. The school offers excellent CPD, a supportive team, and an inclusive environment with strong community involvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in the primary curriculum including Early Literacy and maths.
• Ability to build strong relationships, inspire learners and personalise learning.
• Team player in a 2-form entry school with collaborative planning (PPA).

Responsabilités

• Lead a Year 1 class and plan engaging lessons aligned to the national curriculum.
• Collaborate with phase team and support staff to ensure high-quality teaching.
• Contribute to safeguarding, assessment and inclusion across the year group.
