Your new company
Hays are working in partnership with Primary Schools across Blackpool, providing opportunities for aspiring Teaching Assistants to find ideal roles. Schools are looking for both new and experienced Teaching Assistants to join their teams. These are full-time roles to start immediately, and if successful, will be extended until the end of the academic year.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant, you are responsible for providing support and assistance to the pupils, whether it be in a group or 1:1 setting, as well as supporting the class teacher across KS1 year groups. There is always the potential to move between different year groups depending on the schools' needs, so you will need to be flexible and adapt your skills to meet the needs of the children. This is particularly important when working in SEN schools, as here they work based on pupil ability rather than age. By being a teaching assistant, you should possess good behaviour management skills and hit the ground running by building relationships with pupils as well as staff. There is currently a high demand for teaching assistants in the Preston area, so please get in touch if you would like to know more or discuss the roles available.
What you'll need to succeed
Recent experience working with children within the last 2 years would be beneficial, for example, in an educational setting or as a support worker. As the schools are recruiting immediately, it would be ideal if you could start straight away, however, do not let this put you off applying, as we are always receiving new roles. SEN experience would also be desirable but is not essential, depending on the school you are placed in.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be paid a highly competitive daily rate of up to £13 per hour depending on experience, and will be working in a successful school where you will be an integral part of a welcoming team of TAs. You will have the opportunity to further develop your teaching assistant skills and experience. A dedicated consultant will always be available to assist with any questions or concerns.
