Job description

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school. This is a fantastic opportunity to support young learners at a key stage in their development and play a vital role in helping them reach their full potential. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a KS1 Teaching Assistant:

• Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and activities

• Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning

• Assist with phonics, early reading, writing, and maths support

• Help to create a stimulating and well-organised classroom environment

• Encourage positive behaviour and support social and emotional development

• Provide supervision during break and lunchtimes as needed

• Contribute to classroom displays and general admin duties

Ideal KS1 Teaching Assistant:

• Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 1

• A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills as a KS1 Teaching Assistant.

• A good understanding of phonics and early learning principles

• A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 TA) is desirable but not essential

• A genuine passion for supporting children’s education and wellbeing
