Are you an experienced Key Stage 1 (KS1) teacher with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate teacher to join our welcoming primary school in Darlington, where every child's unique needs and potential are celebrated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum, tailored to meet the diverse needs of your KS1 class, including students with SEN.

  • Provide targeted support and intervention for students with SEN, working closely with the SENCO and Teaching Assistants to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

  • Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching methods as needed to ensure all students, including those with SEN, are progressing towards their learning goals.

  • Create an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment where every child feels valued, respected, and empowered to achieve their full potential.

  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers, providing feedback on student progress and suggesting strategies for further support at home.

Who We're Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).

  • Experience in teaching KS1, with a particular interest or experience in supporting children with SEN.

  • Knowledge of SEN frameworks and strategies, and a commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN.

  • A patient, empathetic, and creative approach to teaching, with a focus on fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
