About the Role

As a KS1 teacher, you will take responsibility for delivering high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stage 1, ensuring every pupil is supported, challenged and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging, creative and differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Teaching across all areas of the KS1 curriculum, including English, mathematics, science and foundation subjects.
• Developing pupils' early literacy, reading, writing, phonics and mathematical skills.
• Creating a stimulating, inclusive and well-organised classroom environment.
• Setting high expectations for learning, behaviour and achievement.
• Assessing, recording and monitoring pupil progress accurately.
• Using assessment information to inform planning and adapt teaching.
• Providing appropriate support, challenge and intervention for individual pupils.
• Promoting independence, confidence, resilience and a love of learning.
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining positive routines.
• Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
• Working closely with teaching assistants and other professionals to support pupil development.
• Attending staff meetings, parents' evenings, training sessions and school events.
• Contributing to the wider life and development of the school.
• Maintaining accurate records relating to planning, assessment and pupil progress.
• Following safeguarding procedures and promoting the welfare of all pupils.
• Participating in professional development, CPD and education and training opportunities.
