KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant | Primary School | Up to £100 per day | Islington | September 2024 start

An inclusive mainstream Primary School located in the North London borough of Islington are seeking a KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team for the next academic year on a year-long contract, from September 2024– July 2025.

This role is a perfect opportunity for graduates who have an interest in the following fields:

  • Counselling
  • Teaching – Mainstream and SEN Schools
  • Play Therapy / Music Therapy / Art Therapy
  • Clinical Psychology

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with and supporting children with a range of needs including but not limited to Autism (ASC), ADHD, Dyslexia and mild learning difficulties. You will be collaborating with Teachers, SENCOs and Therapists to support students in Early Years through a combination of 1:1 interventions, small group activities and general classroom support.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant

The ideal candidate for this KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant will have the following:

  • Must have a degree from a reputable UK University
  • Must have childcare experience – classroom experience is desirable but not essential
  • SEN experience – voluntary or paid
  • Experience with ASD, SEN, SEMH and complex trauma all beneficial
  • Must have an interest in SEN, Child Development or Teaching
  • Team Teach qualification is advantageous but not a necessity
  • Compassionate, calm and confident personality
