KS1 Primary Teacher + Phonics Lead – Sept 24 start – GOOD 2FE Primary School – Islington – Inner London

We are looking to recruit a qualified Primary Teacher + Phonics Lead for a full time, permanent KS1 Class Teacher post from September.

The school site is located within the popular, Inner London borough of Islington. OFSTED have highlighted this lovely, diverse 2 form entry as ‘Good’, highlighting progress, teaching, behaviour and its ambitious leadership team as positive aspects.

We will consider upper pay scale applicants for this post, if you have evidence you meet the criteria.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Understands how to break learning down into manageable chunks, and be adaptable and flexible to meet children’s needs
  • Is committed to improving children’s lives through education - and shows resilience and commitment to this challenge
  • Has a commitment to professional growth- wanting to do things better all the time
  • Has compassion for our children, some of whom have real challenges in their lives(domestic violence, poverty, parental mental health needs)

In the role of phonics lead you will:

  • Play an integral role in our leadership structure and accountable for the progress and attainment of pupils in KS1 and EYFS in phonics and Early reading
  • Be an outstanding practitioner of phonics and will model exceptional phonics teaching for others to emulate
  • Be responsible for the assessment and grouping of pupils to ensure rapid progress
  • Oversee the Yr1 phonics screening check
  • Oversee the progress of SEND and a minority of KS2 pupils needing phonics interventions and rapid catch up
