We are Mentor Education, a top London tuition agency that specialises in providing children with individualised teaching from experienced educators, inspiring them to unlock their potential. We take tutoring seriously and are dedicated to delivering a professional and personalised experience for all our tutors, parents, and students. As well as working with private families we are also committed to our communities and our outreach programmes include tuition for Grenfell survivors and volunteering at local schools to help disadvantaged students recover from Covid learning loss. We set up the Afghan College for Girls which, as a charity, educates hundreds of Afghan girls under the noses of the Taliban.

Our business is growing, and we are now looking to onboard a cohort of new School Entrance tutors. We are looking for experienced educators to work for us on a freelance basis, providing face-to-face and online tuition to children hoping to get in schools such as Westminster, St Pauls, KCS, Dulwich, JAGS, Alleyn's, Highgate, NLCS and the various GDST schools. Generally the parents we work with have their children in full time education, often at private schools, and they are looking for additional support in the evenings and at weekends. We are fully committed to Safer Recruitment and Safeguarding in everything we do.

All our 7+ tuition happens in term times on Saturday and Sunday mornings (you can pick one) in Hampstead or Dulwich. You can pick which day/location is most convenient for you. We operate the venues like a proper school with a blend of 1-2-1 classes, handwriting classes and with a head teacher and support staff on site. Other age groups are being taught at the same time so you are a part of a community. We also offer holiday courses.

Our typical school entrance tutors have qualified teacher status and a track record of helping children get into good independent schools. This experience can be from working in a prep or pre-prep school, working in a state school and supporting those children who go onto take 7+ test, or from private tutoring.

Requirements:

• At least strong 2 years’ experience as a teacher or tutor.
• Track record of success in getting children into independent schools
• Based in London and be able to travel
• An undergraduate degree and strong academic background.
• At least 2 hours’ availability a week (In Person).
• Delivery of excellent lesson plans and reports.
• The ability to commit to a family for at least one year or exam
