Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Primary school based in Northwich who are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work within their KS1 department. This is an OFSTED rated ‘Outstanding’ school with great transport links between Middlewich, Winsford and Runcorn.

This is a great opportunity for an individual who is considering a career in teaching and seeking experience within a mainstream primary school.

About the role:

  • Start-date: September
  • Ongoing/long-term, full-time role
  • Opportunity to earn £90-£100 per day (dependent on experience)

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to identify students who require additional learning/behavioural/emotional support. You will then create and implement individualised learning support plans where necessary; this will include English, Maths and reading. Interventions may be 1-1 or in small groups, dependent on the needs of the students. It is crucial to maintain excellent communication with the teacher and parents/carers of students, to provide updates on both their academic progress and behavioural progress.

What we’re looking for:

  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable (not essential)
  • Good knowledge of current teaching techniques and behaviour management
  • A genuine passion for contributing to the academic development of young students
  • Safeguarding training (can be done upon registering with Teaching Personnel)
