Job summary

Warren Wood Primary School in Stockport seeks an enthusiastic KS1 teacher to join our Year 1 class. You will promote high standards of teaching, support a creative curriculum, and contribute to our nurturing, inclusive school ethos. ECTs are welcome and training opportunities are provided.

The role emphasises phonics and early reading development, collaboration with staff, and commitment to safeguarding and pupil progress within a warm school environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Our wonderful staff team are excited to be looking for a new team member and team player to join us at Warren Wood Primary School. The role will involve a class teaching responsibility in our year 1 cohort. ECT’s are welcome to apply.

You will need to be able to demonstrate your role as a ‘facilitator of learning’, utilising good observational skills enabling you to learn the behavioural patterns of the children you work with, appreciating that we all learn in different ways and with the correct guidance and support, we can achieve our potential. You will need to be dedicated, understanding, highly motivated and have excellent communication skills to effectively engage pupils in their learning and to also share appropriate and purposeful feedback with staff to support learning for children within our KS1 team.

A clear understanding of how to effectively teach phonics and early reading would be advantageous.

  • Be willing to contribute fully to the life of the school
  • Have an inclusive approach to learning and understanding of SEND practices
