Elevate Supply are working with a welcoming, Ofsted-rated "Good" primary school in Handsworth Wood, Birmingham, to recruit a full-time Behaviour Mentor.This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting Key Stage 1 pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.You’ll join a dedicated team focused on providing nurturing, consistent support that enables pupils to access learning, regulate emotions, and build confidence in a structured and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

1:1 Support: Provide personalised support to KS1 pupils with SEMH to help them engage with learning and build confidence.

Small Group Interventions: Run targeted activities aimed at developing social skills and promoting inclusion.

Classroom Assistance: Work alongside class teachers to implement strategies that ensure children with SEMH are included and supported.

Behavioural Guidance: Support children in managing emotions and behaviour, encouraging positive choices and a calm classroom atmosphere.

Collaborative Support: Liaise with the SENCO and wider staff to tailor interventions and monitor student progress.

Ideal Candidate

Experience supporting children with SEMH or other special educational needs is desirable, though not essential.

Confident, patient, and adaptable with strong interpersonal skills.

A background in psychology, education, or child development is beneficial but not required.

Committed to supporting young learners with empathy and consistency.
