Job description

This is a nurturing, inclusive, and ambitious primary school at the heart of the local community. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Teacher to lead a Key Stage 1 and 2 provision and continue their journey of excellence in education and care. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as KS1/2 Head Teacher:

  1. Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school

  2. Drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning, and pupil outcomes

  3. Ensure a rich, engaging, and inclusive curriculum across KS1 and KS2

  4. Lead a culture of high expectations, positive behaviour, and safeguarding

  5. Promote the wellbeing and professional development of staff

  6. Engage effectively with pupils, parents, governors, and the wider community

  7. Manage school resources effectively to support educational priorities

  8. Uphold and develop the school’s vision, values, and inclusive ethos

Ideal KS1/2 Head Teacher:

  1. Has proven experience in a senior leadership role in a primary setting

  2. Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the KS1/KS2 curriculum and pedagogy

  3. Is child-focused, values-driven, and committed to equity and inclusion

  4. Can inspire, challenge, and support staff at all levels

  5. Has strong communication and interpersonal skills as a KS1/2 Head Teacher

  6. Thinks strategically and leads with clarity, compassion, and integrity

  7. Has a deep understanding of school improvement and quality assurance

  8. Is committed to safeguarding and creating a safe, nurturing learning environment
