Job Title Kotlin Software Engineer

Location London

You will be joining the TDI (Technology, Data & Innovation) Engineering Platforms and Practice group as a full stack Developer working on Developer Experience and Productivity tooling which supports discovery and promotion of engineering practices across the entire organization. You will be responsible for designing and enhancing our tool suite supporting DORA, SPACE and DevEx frameworks and working to promote Engineering Culture through supporting strategies and experimentation. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future technology and culture of our firm.

Your key responsibilities

  • Design and development of our Kotlin/React flagship product and supporting tooling
  • Working directly with divisional leaders to elicit requirements
  • Understanding the divisional practices and recommending modern techniques backed by data and proved through experimentation (of your design)
  • Developing supporting materials (software, training materials, workshops) to guide adoption and measurement (KPIs)
  • Additional development in varied programming languages (including Java and TypeScript) for supporting applications measuring DORA and related metrics

Your skills and experience

  • Experience in modern software delivery techniques including engineering practices such as XP and ways of working such as agile methodologies and lean
  • Experienced polyglot developer (we use Kotlin/Java/React mostly)
  • Demonstrable experience with automated testing techniques such as TDD (Test-Driven Development)/ATDD (Acceptance Test-Driven Development)
  • Cloud experience with Google Cloud Platform and OpenShift a plus
  • Exposure to Google’s DORA, SPACE, DevEx and similar frameworks a plus
  • Proven communication and influencing skills, experience coaching and mentoring a plus
