Job summary

The National Archives (TNA) seeks a Knowledge and Information Management Practice Lead to advise and train government bodies on the appraisal, selection and safekeeping of public records in line with the PRA and Records Collection Policy.

The role sits in the Strategic Compliance Team within the Government and Archives Leadership Directorate, guiding departments to achieve compliant, timely transfers of public records.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice, guidance and training on appraisal, selection and safekeeping of public records for government stakeholders.
• Develop and deliver training and guidance on appraisal and selection techniques to enable departments to create bespoke methodologies.
• Lead and contribute to training, policy interpretation and best practices for handling records including information rights legislation.
• Review, analyse and report on practical feasibility of solutions and service models for appraisal, selection and sensitivity review of records.
• Collaborate with the data science team on AI test and learn activities to enhance capture and curation of the digital public record.
