Job description

Job Title: Knife Operator
Location: Merthyr Tydfil
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 3:00pm (overtime may be required)
Pay Rate: £16.64 per hour

Are you a skilled Knife Operator with experience in meat processing or food manufacturing? We are currently recruiting for dedicated Knife Operators to join our fast-paced production site in Merthyr Tydfil.

This is a temporary to permanent opportunity—perfect for candidates seeking stable weekday work with excellent prospects for progression.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience using knives in a production or processing environment (e.g. meat processing, food manufacturing)
  • Good knowledge of cutting techniques and product quality
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
  • A valid driving licence and access to transport (site not easily accessible by public transport)
  • Willingness to work overtime as required

Training & Support:

  • Full training provided on equipment, safety, and processing procedures
  • All new team members must complete Level 2 Food Hygiene training during induction

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate knives safely and effectively to cut, trim, and process meat products
  • Work as part of a skilled team on the production line or within a designated processing area
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and quality control
  • Follow company procedures and work instructions to meet daily production targets
