Job description

Applications are invited (including from trainee clinical psychologists due to qualify within the next 12 months) to apply for a 0.9wte Band 8A Clinical Psychologist position. The postholder will provide a highly specialist clinical psychology service to adults with severe eating disorders in an inpatient setting, supporting the work of the multidisciplinary team.

This role involves supporting and developing teaching packages and clinical pathways, as well as service evaluation and the development of psychological therapy services.

The Eden Unit is a 10-bed regional inpatient unit covering the North of Scotland, including a four-place day patient service. The multidisciplinary team includes psychiatry/medical, AHP, and nursing staff. This is an exciting opportunity to develop the role of clinical psychology within the service, supported by a consultant clinical psychologist.

There are close links with the D Clin Psychol/Edinburgh University, and opportunities for specialist placements for trainees completing this course. The service has an active CPD programme, supports practitioners’ clinical and research interests, and offers opportunities for individual and group supervision.
