To support our innovation and renovation ambitions we are currently recruiting for a Confectioner to join our KitKat front-end innovation team. Being a Confectioner within the world’s largest food and beverage organisation really is an exciting environment that will see you work on a range of project related activities. Some of which include the development and improvement of new and existing confectionery products using the kitchen, pilot plant and industrial scale equipment ensuring alignment to commercial requirements.

NPTC Confectionery York is Nestlé’s leading centre for confectionery Research & Development worldwide, working in partnership with 3 development centres in Chile, China and Ivory Coast. In York we are a team of 170 amazing people from over 30 nationalities and a variety of academia. We have a real focus on inclusion and belonging, an active Wellness program and we support over 50 factories globally. Our objective is to provide ideas, technical innovation and scientific support (for product, process and technology) to continually improve and grow the confectionery business. Supporting our aim of being world class in how confectionery and healthy snacks are developed, manufactured and packaged.

A day in the life of a Confectioner…
What will make you successful?
To be successful in this role you will have some excellent practical experiences as a Confectioner already under your belt or you might be just starting out with a real passion in this area. You will be able to demonstrate your great chocolate making experience including tempering, moulding, shelling and enrobing. If you have experience of fondant making, developing fudge and caramel products and patisserie knowledge these skills would be desirable but not essential. You will also have an up to date understanding of food safety regulations and food hygiene practices as well as being a fantastic team player.
We are looking for you to be passionate, proactive and results focused, acting as a true ambassador for the Nestlé Confectionery brand across the globe. Being able to demonstrate your creativity, initiative and ability to work within a diverse team is really important. You will also have a proficient level of English.
For individuals invited to interview we will ask you to complete a practical and theoretical interview at our Product Technology Centre based in York.
