Whitbread’s Burton On Trent East Premier Inn seeks a Kitchen Team Leader to drive day-to-day kitchen operations. You will manage rotas, place food orders, and lead the team through busy services, all while ensuring audit-ready hygiene and quality.

You’ll work closely with the Hotel Manager and own the kitchen from food quality to safety. This hands-on leadership role offers a clear path to Head Chef, with a focus on cost control, staff training, and developing a strong, compliant kitchen team

Qualifications

• Lead kitchen day to day including rotas and ordering
• Keep food quality and hygiene audit-ready
• Support growth toward Head Chef role
• Collaborate with Hotel Manager on kitchen operations
• Develop team and maintain service flow during busy periods
• Learn kitchen management for senior roles

Responsibilities

• Own food ordering, stock control and food costs for the hotel
• Lead service, organise team and manage workflow
• Prepare, cook, and serve menu items to spec
• Ensure health, safety and hygiene standards and records
• Step in to run shifts and help new team members settle in
• Grow skills toward higher leadership roles within Whitbread
