What we need in a nutshell

We love creating exciting dining concepts across our locations and finding talented chefs to take them forward. In this Kitchen Team Leader role, you will be preparing and cooking for a busy restaurant and helping to manage a team of Line Chefs, Kitchen Assistants, and Kitchen Porters.

Who We Are?

We’re a dynamic and growing company, shaking up the Great British holiday at our award-winning UK resorts. St. Ives Bay Beach Resort has private access to three miles of sandy beach, spectacular sea views, luxury accommodation, and excellent facilities, making it one of the best holiday parks in Cornwall and a great place to work. Want to find out more about our holidays? Check out our website:.

What you’ll be doing

You will be in the thick of the action with your team, ensuring that meals are prepped, cooked, and served to our exacting standards, to deliver delight to our guests. This includes:

  • Supporting the kitchen management team in overseeing all aspects of the Back of House (BOH) operation and being the main point of contact on shift
  • Preparing and cooking meals with the assistance of Line Chefs and Kitchen Assistants, ensuring the team complies with the agreed specifications of all the dishes
  • Helping to control food margins through effective stock management
  • Championing and implementing health and safety and hygiene policies to ensure team and guest safety
  • Identifying the development needs of team members and providing coaching and support to them

One more thing… holidays happen at holiday times, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays and weekends too.

Skills, experience, and qualities you’ll need

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with a real passion for food, who can demonstrate the following:

  • At least Level Two Hygiene Certificate
  • Experience of working as a chef in a busy, fast-paced kitchen
  • Experience of stock control and ordering
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • An eye for detail and able to think on your feet
  • Resilience under pressure

It’s the icing on the cake if you have worked in a busy kitchen on a holiday park and you have experience of supervising others.

We have a can-do, people-centred ethos at Away Resorts, and we look for certain qualities in our team members. Have a look and see if you fit the bill.
