Job summary

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Chef Supervisor to join our Belfast kitchen, leading the day-to-day operation and supervising a kitchen team while upholding high standards of food quality, hygiene and safety.

This full-time role delivers 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm, with one Saturday per month paid at overtime. The salary is £17.05 per hour, plus our Sodexo employee benefits package and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Chef with supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Relevant culinary qualifications are desirable.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP and allergen management.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• High standards of food quality, presentation and customer service.
• A proactive, hands-on approach.
• Ability to motivate and support a team in a busy catering environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the kitchen team, ensuring a professional and efficient service.
• Prepare, cook and present food to a consistently high standard.
• Support menu planning and ensure food is prepared in line with agreed recipes and specifications.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, HACCP and Health & Safety.
• Monitor food quality, presentation, portion control and service standards.
• Support stock management, ordering and stock rotation.
• Ensure allergen and dietary requirements are managed correctly.
• Lead by example, supporting and developing team members.
• Organise daily tasks and ensure the kitchen is prepared for service.
• Monitor food waste and support effective cost control.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Work closely with management and the wider catering team to deliver a consistent service.
• Support Saturday cover and additional catering requirements when required.
