The Opportunity: Apprentice Kitchen Sales Designer

We are seeking talented individuals to join our award-winning apprenticeship scheme and help drive our business forward. The Apprentice Kitchen Sales Designer role offers comprehensive on-the-job training and expert support from a leading training provider while pursuing a Level 3 Fitted Furniture Design Technician Apprenticeship. The program typically lasts 12 to 15 months.

Responsibilities:

As an Apprentice Kitchen Sales Designer, you will learn to turn our builders and their clients' dream kitchens into reality. Visiting homes, listening to ideas, evaluating needs, offering advice, and designing inspirational kitchens that match requirements and exceed expectations are key tasks. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Planning, designing, and selling inspirational kitchens using the company’s range of products with high customer service standards.
  2. Developing long-term relationships with customers from the building trade and their clients.
  3. Visiting sites, including people's homes, to measure and evaluate customer needs.
  4. Utilising Howdens' 'My Kitchen' service to create and view high-quality images.
  5. Processing estimates, pricing, delivery dates, and stock requirements accurately.

You will need to use your own vehicle during business hours, with travel expenses reimbursed.

Requirements:

Our Kitchen Sales Designers come from diverse backgrounds but share a passion for sales and customer service. Using your sales skills and creative flair, you'll learn to achieve and exceed sales targets. We seek individuals with:

  • Ability to work independently and use initiative

  • Capability to prioritize and manage workload

  • The right to work in the UK and related evidence
  • A valid driving license (consideration for learners is possible)

The Apprenticeship:

  • Fitted Furniture Design Technician - Advanced Apprenticeship
  • Training from our in-house Learning & Development team and external providers
  • Duration: 15 months, including at least 12 months of learning and an end-point assessment
  • Support for achieving Level 2 English and maths if needed
