Job summary

COSMO Authentic World Kitchen in the United Kingdom is seeking a reliable Kitchen Assistant to join the kitchen team. You will help with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and support senior staff to ensure high standards of safety and efficiency.

You will work under supervision in a fast-paced setting, upholding hygiene, organization, and teamwork while contributing to smooth service and daily specials. Prior kitchen experience is helpful but not required, and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well under pressure.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients.
• Support chefs in preparing ingredients and assisting in cooking tasks as required.
• Ensure that food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, floors and equipment.
• Help manage stock levels and proper storage of ingredients.
• Assist with basic food storage and labelling for freshness and compliance with safety regulations.
• Dispose of kitchen waste properly and maintain an orderly environment.
• Assist with daily specials and setup for service.
• Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
