Job summary

Chartwells Independent is seeking a Casual Kitchen Porter to support our exclusive venues with flexible shifts across multiple sites. The role offers the opportunity to work across venues on a schedule that suits availability, with up to 40 hours per week. The position is not suitable for students.

No prior experience is required, and training is provided. Roles include assisting in kitchen and cleaning duties, ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met, and contributing to smooth service

Responsibilities

• Communicating with the kitchen team and front of house colleagues to ensure smooth delivery.
• Ensuring cutlery, crockery and glassware are cleaned before and after use and service areas are kept clean, tidy and safe.
• Cleaning of all cooking utensils during preparation and service times.
• Cleaning of kitchen work areas during and after use and removal of kitchen waste to the appropriate area.
• Assisting with the set up and clear down of your area for the next service.
• Maintain exceptional standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
• Operate cleaning machinery as trained and in line with policy.
• Comply with Health & Safety, Hygiene, Manual Handling and COSHH requirements.
• Wear PPE as required.

We are excited to be recruiting a Casual Kitchen Porter who is flexible and available to work across some of our exclusive venues!

By joining our casual workforce, you’ll have the opportunity to work across multiple sites on a flexible schedule that suits your availability and needs.

Shifts are Monday to Friday, and we are looking for candidates who are available to work up to 40 hours per week.

Please note: This position is not suitable for students.

Kitchen Porter Profile

Main responsibilities include:

• Communicating with the kitchen team and front of house colleagues to ensure smooth delivery.
• Ensuring all cutlery, crockery and glassware is professionally cleaned before and after use and ensure all service areas are kept clean, tidy and safe.
• Cleaning of all cooking utensils as required by the culinary team during the preparation (mis-en-place) and service times.
• Cleaning of kitchen work areas during and after use and removal of kitchen waste to the appropriate area.
• Assisting with the set up and clear down of your area, ready for the next service.
• Exceptional standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
• Operating cleaning machinery as shown and trained in accordance with company policy.
• Comply with all company and unit policies with regards to Health & Safety, Hygiene, Manual Handling and COSHH.
• Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
