The Angel Inn, Castle Cary, is opening its kitchen and seeks a Kitchen Porter to support a small team in delivering seasonal, produce-led pub food. You’ll help keep the kitchen clean, assist with basic prep, and support pre-opening setup at The Newt in Somerset before starting at The Angel Inn.

Qualifications

• Reliable, organised approach and pride in doing a job thoroughly.
• Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy periods.
• Good communication skills and enjoyment of working as part of a small team.
• Understanding of basic hygiene and safe working practices.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience would be welcome, but no formal qualifications are required.

Responsabilités

• Keep the kitchen, wash-up and back-of-house areas clean, hygienic and organised.
• Wash and correctly store crockery, cookware, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Polish cutlery and bar glassware, ensuring clean items are ready for service.
• Help with basic food preparation, following instructions and food safety procedures.
• Run food to guests’ tables and support the wider food and beverage team when needed.
• Assist with deliveries, storage, waste and recycling.
• Follow food safety, cleaning and health and safety procedures, reporting any concerns promptly.
• Support the pre-opening set-up, helping establish the kitchen operation and ways of working from the outset, and complete an induction at The Newt in Somerset before starting at The Angel Inn.
