Job description

We are a bold, award-winning business that prides itself on offering an eclectic range of innovative, fresh, and seasonal menus that impress our customers within an industry-leading environment. We run friendly, welcoming, and positive kitchens with high standards, always striving to be the best we can be. These high standards rely on a team of great kitchen porters, the heartbeat of our kitchens, without whom we could not deliver!

We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our team.

Located in the heart of Lower Langford, on the edge of the Mendip Hills AONB, the Langford is a historic village pub dating back to the 17th century. Recently refurbished inside and out, it features beautiful new interiors and 7 boutique bedrooms.

In our kitchen, we focus on local produce and field-to-fork sustainability, with menus that reflect this ethos. Expect exciting seasonal dishes alongside hearty pub classics, created from the best ingredients Somerset has to offer. Our commitment to local produce extends to our beer, with our own award-winning Butcombe Brewery nearby!

We provide a cosy stop for walkers, cyclists, locals, and your dogs, with easy access to Bristol, the airport, and beyond. Our bedrooms are stylish and comfortable, ideal for rural relaxation, a weekend getaway, or passing through on business.

Looking for a private space to celebrate, meet, or host an event? Our gorgeous first-floor dining area is available for private hire.

What’s in it for you?

  • The opportunity to work for an award-winning business, recognized as the Best Food Offer (2019 & 2020) and Best Managed Pub Company (2021) at The UK Publican Awards.
  • Access to Liberation Life, a platform offering cashback with major retailers, and savings on holidays, groceries, gifts, and more.
  • A competitive hourly rate plus an equal share of tips, paid for the hours you work.
  • Industry-leading training and development through bespoke plans as part of our ‘Pillars of Progression’ program.
  • Partnership with HIT training for industry-leading apprenticeship schemes.
  • Additional support and coaching from our talented kitchen teams.
  • Tools and investments in our kitchens to help you perform your best.
  • The energy of team parties, events, training courses, excellent suppliers, and industry-best rewards, discounts, and benefits, including 50% off food on shift.
  • A caring business committed to your well-being, supporting initiatives like the Burnt Chef Project to combat mental health stigma, along with a 24/7 Employee Assistance Program.
