Job Description:

Our Royal Exchange satellite bar & restaurant is located in the heart of Bank. This bustling London location is within walking distance to plenty of bus stops, as well as Bank station. There is plenty to do and explore in this area and just a hop, skip and a jump to the London CBD.

Kitchen Porter – Royal Exchange - (Full Time role - 45 hours per week across 5 days - Monday to Saturday working week with Sundays non working)

Taking pride of place at the Royal Exchange Courtyard in Bank, the Fortnum’s Restaurant and Bar is one of London’s most Instagrammable restaurants. Serving a luxurious selection of fine caviar and oysters to hand carved smoked salmon with our very own selection of cocktails. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea 5 days a week.

We are currently looking for a Kitchen Porter to work with the back of house team, ensuring our kitchen maintains the highest standards of hygiene. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fine dining establishment.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Assisting the chefs with their day to day duties
2. Demonstrate a level of planning, organising, and time management to carry out all your duties
3. Ensure adherence to company policies, controls and standards (e.g. due diligence, cleanliness, and HSE)
4. Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment
5. Maintain food safety when storing, holding, preparing, cooking and serving food
6. Help with the preparation of any dishes that are required
7. Work effectively as part of the kitchen team

We expect the successful candidate to have the following skills and experience:

1. Have the ability to juggle different tasks, from keeping the kitchen spotless and pot washing to helping chefs with meticulous prep work.
2. Support the smooth running of the kitchen.
3. Prior experience as a Kitchen Porter would be beneficial but not essential
4. Team working and a positive attitude to get involved as this role is in a prep kitchen.
