Job summary

Travail Employment Group is seeking a Kitchen Porter for a well-established educational organisation in Plumpton. You will support the catering team, ensuring cleanliness, food hygiene and customer service standards are maintained, reporting to the Catering Coordinator.

The role requires a reliable, team‑oriented candidate and own transport due to the rural location; 45 hours per week, permanent contract, with 26 days holiday plus bank holidays and a pension scheme.

Responsibilities

• Washing pots, pans, crockery and kitchen equipment as required
• Assisting the kitchen team with basic food preparation duties
• Supporting food service within the dining hall
• Keeping food preparation and wash-up areas clean and organised
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health and safety standards
• Wearing appropriate protective clothing and footwear in accordance with regulations
• Assisting with catering requirements across the site when needed
• Supporting evening or occasional weekend functions and events
• Undertaking food hygiene and food handling training as required
• Providing a polite, professional and courteous service to students, staff and visitors
