Job summary

St Marys Hospice in Nottingham is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support the day-to-day running of the Orangery Cafe, maintaining high levels of cleanliness and food safety.

The role involves washing dishes, assisting with basic food preparation, and working closely with chefs and front-of-house staff. 21 hours per week with alternate weeks of 3 and 4 days and 6-hour shifts, including alternate weekends, and full induction provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen, catering, or food service preferred.
• Full induction and training provided.

Responsibilities

• Washing dishes, cutlery, and kitchen equipment.
• Supporting the chefs with day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Assisting with basic food preparation (salads, sandwiches).
• Keeping wash area clean and hygienic throughout shift.
• Working with front-of-house colleagues to ensure smooth service.
