Job summary

LGH Hotels Management Ltd is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support our Basildon kitchen team. You will help keep the kitchen running smoothly, safely and efficiently, ensuring cleanliness and organisation behind the scenes.

You will assist with basic food prep, handle deliveries, and support set-up and close-down procedures while adhering to food safety guidelines and teamwork standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in busy kitchen environments.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment thoroughly and efficiently.
• Keep all kitchen areas clean, tidy and organized throughout the shift.
• Sweep and mop floors and manage waste and recycling responsibly.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling and chopping vegetables.
• Receive, check and store deliveries correctly.
• Support kitchen set-up and close-down procedures.
• Clean cooking equipment and work surfaces to hygiene standards.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and health & safety guidelines at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to support smooth service.
• Report any maintenance, hygiene or health & safety concerns promptly.
