Job summary

Village Hotel is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support a fast-paced kitchen. You will dominate the dish pit, manage the cleaning and hygiene standards, and assist the brigade by fetching items and checking deliveries to ensure accuracy of orders.

Responsibilities

• The Engine Room: Dominating the dish pit. You will work speedily to clean all equipment and crockery, ensuring the kitchen never grinds to a halt because a chef is waiting for a pan.
• The Standards: Managing the mess. You will safely handle cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH regulations, control food waste correctly, and maintain the highest levels of hygiene.
• The Backbone: Supporting the brigade. You will fetch and carry food, safely store equipment, and act as the crucial link that keeps the service flowing.
• The Deliveries: Acting as the gatekeeper. You will check in deliveries according to standard operating procedures, validating invoices to ensure we get exactly what we paid for.
