Responsibilities

• Wash dirty dishes and load into dishwashers.
• Keep glassware organized and store clean dishes correctly.
• Clean and maintain cooking equipment and surfaces.
• Sanitize countertops, walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks.
• Remove waste and dispose of it properly.
• Maintain food storage areas like freezers and fridges.
• Receive deliveries and organize them in the kitchen.
• Clean the canteen after meals and prepare for the next day.
• Ensure the kitchen is fully cleaned at close.
• Assist chefs with basic prep like cutting and washing ingredients.
• Support prep cooks and kitchen staff as needed.
• Follow HACCP standards.

Kitchen Porter - Courtyard by Marriott Glasgow SEC

Gross Salary - £12.71 per hour - casual hour contract

Responsibilities:

As a keen and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter you will keep things organised and clean so that Chefs can perform their duties efficiently.

Your job is crucial and without someone on hand to keep things running smoothly, other kitchen staff could easily fall behind.

You will be responsible for:

• Washing dirty dishes like cutlery, pots, cutting boards and pans or loading dishes into the dishwasher
• Keep glassware organized at all times and store clean dishes in the proper location
• Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers
• Cleaning and sterilizing countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks
• Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly
• Maintaining the food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators
• Receiving deliveries and organizing them in the kitchen
• Cleaning the canteen after lunch and dinner break
• Cleaning the entire kitchen once it is closed to ensure it is ready for the next day
• Supporting the Chef in basic food preparation like cutting ingredients, peeling and washing food items
• Providing assistance to Prep Cooks and other kitchen staff, as needed
• Following the HACCP standards
