Battersea Academy for Skills & Employment (BASE) C.I.C. opens a new Battersea restaurant and seeks a Kitchen Porter to support chefs and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in a busy kitchen at Battersea Power Station.

The role is full-time and permanent, 40–45 hours per week, paying £15.00 per hour with an average £2 tronc (not guaranteed). Free meals on shift and opportunities to develop within the company.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen is preferred, though not essential.
• Strong work ethic and reliability; take responsibility for tasks.
• Excellent cleanliness, hygiene and organization with attention to detail.
• Ability to work calmly in a fast-paced kitchen during busy services.
• Good time management and ability to prioritise tasks.
• Follow cleaning procedures, food hygiene, health and safety protocols.
• Strong teamwork and communication; support chefs and colleagues.
• Physically able to stand, lift and move kitchen equipment.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• English proficiency and right to work in the UK.

Responsabilités

• Wash dishes, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans and utensils thoroughly.
• Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment correctly.
• Return clean dishes and equipment to correct locations.
• Keep washing-up area tidy throughout service.
• Manage flow of dirty and clean equipment during busy periods.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation when required.
• Help organise deliveries and store ingredients and supplies.
• Keep storage areas clean and accessible.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is available during service.
• Support colleagues with additional kitchen duties when needed.
