Job summary

The Torridon in Scotland is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support the kitchen team. This role focuses on keeping crockery, utensils and areas clean and safe, enabling high service standards in a busy hospitality environment.

Hours are 20 per week on straight day shifts with flexibility. The position requires reliable attendance, good English, and a positive team attitude to assist chefs and maintain hygiene and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK (passport, settled/pre-settled status or valid visa)
• Reliable and punctual
• Good attention to detail and cleanliness
• Able to follow safety instructions and schedules
• Physically active role with standing, lifting and moving stock

Responsibilities

• Wash, sanitise and correctly store crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots and kitchen equipment.
• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Keep pot wash and back-of-house areas clean and tidy.
• Follow cleaning schedules and record completed tasks where required.
• Ensure equipment and service items are clean, dry and stocked for service.
• Manage waste and recycling in line with guidelines.
• Report faults or hazards to the Head Chef or duty senior.
• Assist chefs with basic preparation and stock movement when trained.
