Job description

We are a bold, award-winning business that prides itself on offering an eclectic range of innovative, fresh, and seasonal menus that impress our customers within an industry-leading environment. We operate friendly, welcoming, and positive kitchens with high standards, always striving to be the best we can be. These high standards are maintained thanks to our team of great kitchen porters—the heartbeat of our kitchens—without whom we could not deliver!

We are currently looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our team.

Welcome to The Beckford, a beautiful 18th-century Cotswold pub in the village of Beckford, near Tewkesbury. Recently refurbished, it features cosy interiors, traditional pub charm, open fires inside, spacious beer gardens, and a heated pergola terrace outside.

Our boutique bedrooms are filled with comfy furnishings and personal touches, making it an ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds, with easy access to Cheltenham, Stratford-upon-Avon, and the M5.

Our kitchen team is passionate about creating exciting seasonal dishes and pub classics with quality local produce, supported by our own kitchen garden. Behind the bar, you'll find our award-winning Butcombe ale and cider, along with a great wine list.

If you're planning an event, big or small, we'd love to hear how we can assist. Our garden marquee is perfect for large weddings and events, while our private dining room offers an impressive space for smaller gatherings.

What’s in it for you?

  • The opportunity to work for an award-winning business, recognized as the Best Food Offer (2019 & 2020) and Best Managed Pub Company (2021) at The UK Publican Awards.
  • A competitive hourly rate plus an equal share of tips. You will be paid for all hours worked.
  • Access to industry-leading training and development through our bespoke ‘Pillars of Progression’ programme.
  • Participation in HIT training apprenticeship schemes.
  • Additional support and coaching from our talented kitchen teams.
  • All the tools needed to do a great job, with significant investments made in our kitchens.
  • The vibrant atmosphere of team parties, events, training courses, great suppliers, and some of the industry’s best rewards, discounts, and benefits (including 75% off food on shift).
  • A caring business that supports your well-being, including being ambassadors for the Burnt Chef Project to combat mental health stigma, and an Employee Assistance Program available 24/7 for support.
