Job summary

Holroyd Howe is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter/Assistant to join the kitchen team at Bishopsgate School in Egham (Englefield Green). This role supports chefs, maintains cleanliness, and helps ensure safe, hygienic service in an education-focused catering operation.

You will assist with basic food prep, handle stock deliveries, operate dishwashers, and follow health and allergy controls as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a busy school kitchen.
• Strong hygiene and allergen controls awareness.
• Team player with a positive and flexible attitude.
• Previous kitchen experience or relevant training is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Assist chefs with basic food prep and stock deliveries.
• Operate dishwashers and ensure proper sanitation practices.
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
• Support the team in daily kitchen operations and setup for service.
• Accountability for allergen controls and safe mealtimes for pupils.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and develop catering skills.

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter/Assistant to join the kitchen team at Bishopsgate School in Egham (Englefield Green). This is a great opportunity to play a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment in a supportive, food-led Education setting.
