Position: Kitchen Porter

Location: Sindlesham

Contract: Permanent, term time for main school, 52 weeks for nursery, operates 7 days a week with mixed working patterns

Salary: £24,500

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

A co-educational, independent day & boarding school in Wokingham, Berkshire, providing education for boys and girls aged 3 months to 18 years. The school serves approximately 1,000 students and staff daily, offering breakfast, lunch, supper, and hospitality services throughout the year.

We are seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our friendly team at Sindlesham, contributing to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist with pot washing and cleaning duties
2. Help chefs with food preparation
3. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas and equipment
4. Operate industrial dishwashers and clean heavy catering equipment following instructions
5. Ensure high standards of hygiene and safety are upheld

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience in pot wash duties is advantageous but not essential
• Positive attitude and good team spirit
• Strong organization skills
• Ability to demonstrate good verbal and written English skills
