Job description

We have an exciting new opportunity at Speedwell Court for a Kitchen Porter to join our team!

The role is based on a full time contract of 40 hours. Shift times are 07.30-17.30 4 days per week. This will include alternate weekend shifts.

Speedwell Court is a beautiful, purpose built home that provides an exclusive setting and high quality residential and Dementia care to its elderly residents. Staff are committed to looking after the health and wellbeing of residents. This includes providing a range of activities to get involved with, serving delicious, nutritious meals and helping them to enjoy their lives to fullest.

The role:

As a Kitchen Porter you will work alongside our other kitchen staff and Catering Manager to ensure the residents receive healthy and nutritious meals.

As a Kitchen Porter your tasks will include -

  • Keeping all kitchen and store areas clean and hygienic
  • Spending time getting to know the residents, their dietary requirements and preferences
  • Managing incoming deliveries and the correct storage of goods
  • To be responsible for the daily use of catering equipment, monitoring usage and reporting any issues
  • Completing food and drink preparation and transporting prepared food to the relevant dining area to be served.

About You:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to be a team player, but also use own initiative
  • A relevant certificate in Food Hygiene Level 3, or be willing to complete this.
