Job Description: Kitchen Porter
Location: Sindlesham
Contract: Permanent
Salary: 24,500
Hours: 37.5 per week

We are a co-educational, independent day & boarding school in Wokingham, Berkshire, providing education for boys and girls aged 3 months to 18 years. Our school serves approximately 1000 students and staff daily, offering breakfast, lunch, and supper, along with hospitality services throughout the year. The main school operates during term time, while the nursery runs 52 weeks a year, with a flexible schedule across 7 days. Free onsite parking is an additional benefit.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our friendly team at our prestigious Sindlesham location. Your role will be crucial in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in the kitchen environment.

Key Skills:
  • Experience with pot washing is advantageous
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Team player mentality
  • Assist chefs with food preparation
  • Maintain high cleanliness standards
  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment
  • Use instructions and cleaning materials to clean heavy catering equipment, including air filters and extraction systems
  • Operate industrial dishwasher
Candidate Requirements:
  • Kitchen Porter experience is preferred but not essential
  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Good organizational skills
Knowledge / Competencies:
  • Reasonable understanding and use of verbal English
  • Good standard of written English and reading skills
  • Experience in customer service or food prep environment is preferred
