Job summary

BaxterStorey in the United Kingdom is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support busy kitchens across sites, delivering reliable hygiene and prep assistance. You will maintain daily cleanliness, handle stock deliveries, wash dishes and equipment, assist with basic prep, and help the team during peak periods, while following health and safety standards.

  • Control and put away daily stock deliveries.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Assist in basic food preparation tasks as directed by the chef.
  • Clean and sanitise work surfaces, floors, and walls.

Job description

As a Kitchen Porter, your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain daily hygiene standards in the kitchen and food preparation areas
  • Control and put away daily stock deliveries
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
  • Assist in basic food preparation tasks as directed by the chef
  • Clean and sanitise work surfaces, floors, and walls
  • Empty and clean waste bins
  • Organise and store cleaning supplies
  • Assist with unloading delivery vehicles when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Report any faulty equipment or maintenance issues to the supervisor
  • Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
  • Maintain a clean and tidy changing area and staff facilities
  • Support other kitchen staff during busy periods
