Job summary

Talosats Careers is hiring a Kitchen Porter for a part-time/casual role in a busy coffee shop. You will keep the kitchen clean, hygienic and organised, ensuring crockery is ready, waste is managed, and stock areas remain tidy to support chefs and baristas on every shift.

You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, stand for long periods, and lift items. Training provided; right to work in the UK required. Join a welcoming team with great perks.

Responsibilities

• Operate the industrial dishwasher and wash crockery, then restock.
• Clean and sanitise work surfaces, walls, floors and preparation areas.
• Assist with basic food preparation and vegetable/fruit prep as needed.
• Empty bins and sort waste into recycling or disposal areas.
• Receive deliveries and keep stockroom and fridges organised.
• Follow health, safety and COSHH regulations.
• Help keep café seating area and restrooms tidy on request.

You’ll be the behind-the-scenes hero who keeps our kitchen clean, hygienic and organised. By ensuring clean crockery is always ready, the kitchen remains sanitary and food waste is managed properly, you’ll provide the essential support our chefs and baristas need to keep service moving smoothly. It’s a crucial role—and a fantastic chance to make a real impact on every shift.

Your Shift, Your Impact

• Keep it sparkling: Operate the industrial dishwasher; wash pots, pans, plates and cutlery; then dry and restock everything quickly.
• Champion kitchen hygiene: Clean and sanitise work surfaces, walls, floors and food-preparation areas—including sinks, stoves and fridges—before, during and after shifts.
• Support the team: Help with basic food preparation when needed, including washing, peeling and chopping vegetables or fruit.
• Stay on top of waste: Empty kitchen bins and ensure all waste is correctly sorted into recycling or disposal areas.
• Keep stock moving: Receive deliveries, check them for accuracy, and keep the stockroom and walk-in fridges organised.
• Put safety first: Follow all health, safety and hygiene regulations, including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) standards.
• Help every area look its best: Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the café seating area, staff rooms or public restrooms when requested.
